$5 National Currency 1875 Ch#1527 - Webster NB, Boston, MA - PMG 12

National Webster Bank was organized in 1865 and survived the entire National Currency era, produced notes under two titles. The second title of Webster-Atlas NB was adopted after merging with the Atlas NB of Boston Ch#654.  While the second title features over 200 notes in the census, the first title is quite scarce in comparison, reporting only 14 notes.  Boston Fun Fact: From 1659 to 1681 Christmas was banned in Boston, the Pilgrims believed it was a corrupt holiday and banned celebrations.
