$20 National Currency 1902-PB Ch#7268 - 1st NB, Deer Creek, MN - PMG 20

Located in Otter Trail County, today Deer Creek has just over 300 residents and had only just over 400 at its peak.  The First National Bank OF Deer Creek was chartered in 1904 and closed in 1929 only issuing 1902 Plain Back notes.  Another bank, The First National Bank IN Deer Creek opened under a different charter number earlier in 1929 to replace the bank and went on to issue small size notes.  However this note from the original First National Bank is 1 OF ONLY 6 notes reported in the census for the bank and 1 OF ONLY 2 $20 1902 Plain Back notes.  $10 Plain Backs make up the other 4 notes for the bank, one of which we are also offering.
