Located in Summit County in NW Ohio, Akron put itself on the map with the rise of automobile and trucking becoming the “Rubber Capital of the World” with B.F. Goodrich, Goodyear, Firestone and The General Tire & Rubber Company all being headquartered in Akron. The population soared to over 200,000 by 1920 which makes the town interesting for collector of National Currency. - While Akron had 8 issuing bank during the era, none of the banks made it the small size era and all of the banks have relatively low census populations considering the size of town. The 2nd National Bank has a total of 15 reported in the census and this is 1 OF ONLY 2 $20 1902 Date Back notes. Red Seals are actually the most prevalent note from the bank.
